Bible verse to successfully resist temptation

The biblical verse that helped me ward off temptations is found in 1 Corinthians10:13. This verse states that God ... will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but ... will also make the way of escape

Just as Satan has tempted Jesus Christ with lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, we will also be subjected to these three temptations while living in this imperfect world.

Nevertheless, God has promised us a way of escape if we only rely on His Word just as what Jesus did. Jesus used God's Word everytime he was tempted by the devil.  Jesus said " It is written, " Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." when  the devil  tempted him to turn stones into bread. Again Jesus said " It is written, " You shall not tempt the Lord your God.", when the devil told Jesus to throw himself down from the pinnacle of the temple. Again Jesus resisted temptation when He said, " It is written, " You shall worship the Lord your God and only Him you shall serve." when He was tempted with the Kingdoms of the world and their glory.

So let us follow Jesus as our model to resist temptations. It is vital for every Christian to study God's Word so that when we are tempted, we will put into action God's Word to use as our escape.
